Fire, Smoke and Exit Doors

Installations, repairs and inspections.

In December 2012 Australian Standard AS1851 was updated. Your fire, smoke and exit doors must now be inspected quarterly.

MFE is recognised Victoria-wide as the fire door specialists, known as the group building and property managers other fire companies turn to for their inspection and service needs.

Your digital reports are supplied quickly with a simplified quote process. The MFE team's turnaround time is one of the fastest in the business. As soon as an inspection is complete your report is emailed to you on the spot. No more waiting days for your completed inspection reports and quotes. Your logbooks are maintained to Australian standards.

All installs are certified and a certificate of compliance is issued on completion of all work. MFE inspectors are accredited for removal of asbestos fire doors as well.

Passive Fire Protection

Passive Fire Protection is an integral component of fire safety in a building. PFP attempts to contain fires or slow the spread, through use of fire-resistant walls, floors, and doors.

MFE maintains all your fire rated elements for office buildings. Essential service inspections, repairs and maintenance is available for:

  • Fire Walls
  • Fire Doors
  • Smoke Walls
  • Smoke Doors
  • Penetrations in Fire Rated Structures
  • Plus many others

Portable Fire Equipment

In December 2012 Australian Standard AS1851 was updated. Your active fire protection (extinguishers and fire hose reels) must be inspected every 6 months.

MFE provides service and maintenance of fire extinguishers, hose reels and fire blankets. During a service, the condition all units is checked to make sure your active fire equipment is in working order and all signage is checked so that it meets Australian Standards (AS 2444). MFE also supplies new equipment at a very competitive price.

Annual Essential Safety Measures report (AESM Reports)

Each year owners are required to prepare an Annual Essential Services Report on the building's essential safety measures. Building owners have an obligation to ensure the essential safety measures and other safety measures are maintained and operate satisfactorily.

If your building was built or altered since July 1st, 1994, government regulations require you to keep a current copy of your building's Occupancy Permit together with an Annual Essential Safety Measures report in the building.

All essential safe measures reports, records of maintenance checks, services and repair work to the building must also be kept on the premises so it is easily accessible for a municipal building surveyor or the Chief Officer of the relevant fire brigade that may randomly check for compliance.
